Bachelor of Nursing
A degree in nursing takes four years to complete with one year of mandatory internship. The course requires a KCSE mean grade of C plus, and C plus in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics/Physics, and English/Kiswahili.

Diploma in Kenya Registered Nursing
The course takes three years to complete with one year of mandatory internship. The entry requirements are at least C plain in KCSE with the same grade in either English/Kiswahili, Biology, and C minus in either Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry.

Certificate in Nursing
A certificate in nursing takes at least two years to complete and one year of mandatory internship. The entry requirements for the course are at least C minus in KCSE and the same grade in biology, English/Kiswahili, and D plus in either Mathematics, Physics, or chemistry.

Cluster points for Nursing
A Certificate and diploma in nursing courses don’t have cluster requirements. However, A bachelor’s degree requires a cluster point of between 25 and 42 depending on the institution.
Course Application
You can apply for the course through the KUCCPS portal the application. Successful Applications submitted through KUCCPS guarantee government education funding and HELB. We will notify you when the portal opens for applications.
Note: KMTC applications for the March 2025 intake closed on 14th February 2025.
Successful applications submitted to private institutions are not eligible for government education funding.
